Moon Rocks is not your typical cookie place like Insomnia. Their cookies are way more flavor packed and the texture is... denser, but they are by far the best cookie place in Hamden and surrounding areas! My favorite cookie place. We drive an hour every time to get there and over an hour back because of traffic. My... favorite are the chocolate peanut butter and the chocolate chip cheesecake. So good. So I'll just say that they are delicious & everyone I give them to ends up ordering more for others (or for themselves).They make a vegan gluten free cookie that I was cautious of trying...because if you've ever had GF and vegan desserts, you know that they tend to be dry & use a lot of cheaper products to offset the costs. Went to craft fair in North Branford and saw their little truck and decided to give them a try (having never had them... before). The lady running the truck was super friendly and helpful in assisting us with our selection. We purchased a half dozen (2 chocolate chip, 2 chocolate PB, 1 lemon blueberry and 1 chocolate cheesecake). The chocolate cheesecake was by far my favorite and my wife truly enjoyed the lemon blueberry. However, the chocolate PB was really dry and had an overpowering salt flavor.
